Os The Psychedelic Furs, formaram-se em 1977, Inglaterra e contavam na altura com os irmãos Butler, Richard na voz e Tim no baixo, bem como Duncan Kilburn no saxofone e Roger Morris na guitarra. Posteriormente registaram-se as entradas de Jonh Ashton nas guitarras e do baterista Vince Ely, ficando assim completa a formação.

Depois de ler a playlist da última sexta no BL, recordava a conversa tida a propósito de "Arnold Layne" dos Pink Floyd...
Eis que por capricho dos desígnios cibernéticos, sou empurrado, aleatoriamente, para um link, que depois de aberto se transforma no vídeo que se segue.



A história é fácil de contar.
Estávamos em Maio de 2006.
Aparentemente era só mais um concerto da digressão de David Gilmour.
O espaço, o sempre respeitável Royal Albert Hall.
Eis que David Bowie (um dos ícones de referência destes cães danados) sobe ao palco para interpretar o tema que Syd Barret criara em 1967.
De resto, as imagens falam por si...

A matilha voltou a juntar-se, embora desta vez com um dos cães danados menos danado que o habitual, podendo finalmente fazer um set com a tranquilidade que tal implica, isto depois das enormes injustiças e atrocidades cometidas para com ele aquando da sua última passagem pela cabine do bar do lago,em consequência de uma ligeira absorção de alcool, superior ao que lhe é habitual, por parte do seu organismo.

Desta vez nos pratos tivemos algo inovador, em simultâneo, Vitor Ribeiro e José Vieira (já não me recordo exactamente do menu), seguidos de uma fantástica e envolvente elegância sonora proporcionada por Ricardo Valente..

Bem vindos a mais uma edição de discos perdidos desta feita com a Dupla V & V (Victor e Vieira) a tomarem as redeas do touro.Foi também uma emissão com uma outra dupla, de contabilistas, daí ter havido um rigoroso controlo orçamental no planeamento desta emissão. Tivemos de reduzir em termos laborais, nomeadamente no tempo das músicas..(pensavam que tinha sido um engano?!)..acrescentar em termos de esforço indivual dos nossos profissionais, no fundo obrigaram-nos a apresentar resultados e foi o que fizemos, deixando para os nossos atentos ouvintes (segundo uma sondagem cerca de 3, incluindo os 2 responsáveis) a elaboração do Balanço final de mais uma demonstração da força que cada vez mais assumem estas emissões dos Discos Perdidos, a avaliar pelas perolas que se vão retirando do baú...só espero que os Piratas não nos descubram...

É já sexta-feira, pois é!

…para acabar de vez com 2006 (agora sim!)

Não é simplesmente um boato. Não é algo que alguém ouviu, que outrém tinha dito, que lhe tinha chegado aos ouvidos. É mesmo verdade que o Discos Perdidos chegou à pista! Já passou mais de um mês, é certo, desde essa ocorrência, mas o facto de tender a tornar-se um mito ou uma espécie de acontecimento de culto, obriga a um esclarecimento. Houve, de facto, uma noite em que os cães danados ocuparam a sala de visitas do salão de baile mais concorrido de Penafiel (isso, o Bar do Lago…) e deram música até ás tantas.
Uns mais do que outros. Alguns, mesmo nada. Uns nem sabem se deram ou não deram. Outros só deram o que pouco antes lhe tinham dado.
Mas foi uma bela noite.
Veio o RV com os Koop ou com Michael Buble. Seguiu-se JS e com ele os Chemical Brothers e os Underworld. Contrapôs o FSC com os Arctic Monkeys ou os Bloc Party. Continuou JCV com Nine Inch Nails ou os Radiohead. Finalizou, lá para as 5 da matina, Quentin Tarantino, com a sua party people, ao som de Reservoir Dogs.
Mais, só mesmo para quem lá esteve.

Aquilo que os Sonic Youth ou os Pixies definiram como um feliz cruzamento da rudeza punk com a melodia pop, e que P.J.Harvey tem conseguido manter às portas do mainstream nos últimos anos, ressurgiu em força neste início de milénio. Basta atentar aos Strokes, por exemplo, tornados porta-estandarte deste género ressuscitado. Ou aos Yeah Yeah Yeahs, seus correspondentes directos, que acrescentam, como os atrás citados, a sensualidade de uma presença feminina ao colectivo.
Neste 2006, os Discos Perdidos colocam 3 destes nomes no top five das suas escolhas. Sintomático (…ou synth.o.matic, como poderá soar a alguns…).
Nessa linha incluo ainda alguns nomes menos consensuais, mas que, numa perspectiva mais pessoal, estão na pole-position no que aos melhores do ano diz respeito. Falo dos The Gossip. Falo dos The Long Blondes. Falo dos Love is All. Falo dos Be Your Own Pet. E era aqui que queria chegar. Foi com este vídeo que os conheci. O tema dá-se ao nome de Adventure. Por si só resume, numa única palavra, o que 2006 representa para os cães danados!
O Discos Perdidos é o único programa de rádio que suporta diálogos eloquentes de microfone fechado; E é dos poucos que deixa o dito microfone aberto à insaciável voz brejeira do nosso povo.
É o programa que se inicia com um apresentador, esquerdista, barricado em plena auto-estrada, vitima dos aumentos de preço do barril de petróleo; E com o co-apresentador, politicamente correcto, em plena missão de resgate ao mesmo.
É um programa em que o botão eject assume, não raras vezes, o papel de protagonista; Ou que os leitores de cd entram em inesperadas greves a favor do copyright.

E é isso que nos faz correr!
